Canal Sugar Factory

Description

Canal Sugar is an integrated Agro-industrial project incorporating reclamation and cultivation of 181,000 acres of land (c.76,000 hectare / 790 square kilometers), making it the largest agricultural project in Egypt since 1952, in addition to building and operating the world’s biggest sugar beet processing plant with an annual production capacity 900,000 Tons of a premium white sugar.

The project’s total investment cost is USD 1Bn, Major shareholders are  Jamal Al Ghurair Group, which possess more than 25 years of best in class sugar processing knowledge, trading and supply chain, Al Ahli Capital Holding, the investment banking arm of the National Bank of Egypt, with a portfolio of committed investments in agriculture, F&B and petrochemicals and Murban Energy Limited, a UAE based investment fund with a main focus on international energy and hospitality sectors.

Scope of work

The main work includes, Engineering, procurement, Concrete foundation, construction, installation, and commissioning of the main electric plants, roads, painting, install interlock, and four scale house.
